This Green Acres encumbered protected open space dataset will always be at some level of incompleteness because Green Acres is continually adding new and existing open space polygons to its data sets as well as making updates to the attribute information. All newly acquired open space parcels will be mapped in a timely fashion. Updates and adjustments to older mapping mostly occurs when newly added parcels adjoin older out of date mapping or when a mapping update is requested for a particular area. Green Acres Mapping is broken down to a designated lot unit allowing for a PAMS_PIN (mun-id_block_lot) to be generated as a universal-id. Occasionally a parcel is preserved that does not have a lot designation which will either have a blank PAMS_PIN, the municipal/county code or a one word description. For example, ROW for right of way. In most cases the Green Acres PAMS_PIN will match the digital tax parcel PAMS_PIN except where more up-to-date information is available such as an approved Green Acres survey, a new tax map or when the Green Acres mapping is old and needs to be updated. New mapping is made by either using a CAD file (.dxf or .dwg) from an approved Green Acres survey or the most current version of the digital tax parcels. Geometry updates are made by either replacing part of a boundary or replacing the entire parcel. When new parcel entries are adjacent to existing entries the older mapping usually defers to the newer mapping unless the older mapping is a survey. This is used when there is an approved survey but no CAD file is available. It involves manually entering the bearings and distances directly in the feature class using the COGO tool. The mapping methodology for these non-surveyed parcels involves using the digital tax parcel layer which is maintained by the Office of Information Technology (OIT). When the digital tax parcels are not the most up to date source then digital tax maps are acquired and used for parcel delineations.
